OMAG DigiMill Explained

The OMAG DigiMill is a CNC workcentre that is specially designed for factories that make kitchen worktops from stone such as porcelain or dekton and they have a small footprint in the factory to install the machine. It is a CNC workcentre that comes in one piece so unloading and installing it is very easy. It takes 21 CNC tools and also has a gearbox to be able to make grooves.

The main benefit of a CNC workcentre is that you can work on natural materials such as marble and granite. Still, you can also work on sintered materials such as porcelain and Dekton as well as raw sintered material. This includes natural quartzites like those used for the Taj Mahal.

The machine comes with EasyStone CAD/CAM software to design, draw and machine all the pieces for fabricating. Then you can upload this to the CNC.

The model has been made on the principle of two existing models that OMAG have already made for years. OMAG is a stone machinery manufacturer in Italy that makes 5, 6 & 7 Axes CNC machines from bridge saws to CNC workcentres and waterjets. They already have a very popular 5 axes CNC saw called the Digitale. For a number of years they have been successfully selling a CNC workcentre model called the Mill4x. The CNC workcentre is built to satisfy customer needs. So to be able to have something that has an easier installation, and transport as well as a small footprint, OMAG have taken the body of the 5 Axes bridge saw – Digitale, and inserted the mechanics and technology of the Mill4x, which created the DigiMill.
